The benefits of autonomous vehicles for community-based trip sharing

This work reconsiders the concept of community-based trip sharing proposed by Hasan et al. (2018) that leverages structure commuting patterns and urban communities to optimize sharing. It aims at quantifying benefits autonomous vehicles for sharing, compared a car-pooling platform where are driven their owners. In considered problem, each rider specifies desired arrival time her inbound (commuting work) departure outbound back home). addition, commute cannot deviate too much from duration direct trip.
